The Mercedes C-111 Wankel was manufactured in Spain. The version shown in the UK Scalextric catalogue in orange and white was assembled in the UK and used different wheel hubs. The hubs were the stock 5-spoke chromed items as used on the Mini Cooper, Ford Escort and others. The tyres were also the same stock items as used throughout the range of the period.

The Spanish made C-111 models had a more elaborate wheel hub and wider tyres. The car was produced in green, orange, yellow and whit with variations in shade. The mould were also sent to Mexico where Scalextric (Spain) was licensed to retail the product. Though produced in the same colours the shade variations were more extreme. Yellow reached a shade as dark as mustard and orange near to red.
